Llevar tus obsesiones al límite siempre puede resultar peligroso. Si lo que te va por ejemplo es morderte compulsivamente las uñas puede ser que algún día veas con asombro aflorar tus falangetas por encima de los anillos (pido disculpas por tan desagradable imagen).

Ahora bien, si lo tuyo es el chocolate y más específicamente las chocolatinas de la conocida marca KitKat puede que un día sin comerlo ni beberlo te veas envuelto en un espiral de locura, y de repente te encontrarás en tu cocina en pleno proceso de creación de una verdadera bomba calórica, la monstruosa barrita de chocolate de 36.000 calorías. Y a partir de ahí ya estás perdido…

En el vídeo adjunto vemos entero el proceso de fabricación, que a primera vista no parece muy complicado. Se derriten las piezas de chocolate y se vierte después en un molde alargado, más o menos hasta rellenar la mitad, después se le añade la galleta y se recubre todo de nuevo con otra dosis de chocolate. ¡Quick & Easy!l

La verdad es que el resultado que consigue la cocinera del vídeo es estupendo, y aunque el envoltorio que realiza quizá no tenga unos acabados tan espléndidos (aunque sí es muy meritorio) no he podido reprimir un ooohhh! de admiración al final del visionado. Ahora ya podéis correr raudos hacia la cocina (sé que estáis pensando, ¿Tengo en casa algún un molde parecido?) para intentar sumaros a la locura chocolatera.

Con esta mega-chocolatina podréis sorprender a vuestros amigos invitándoles a una divertida merienda, o también podéis usarla como bate de béisbol contra los indeseables. Sea como sea, y parafraseando el conocido lema publicitario de KitKat, necesitaréis tomaros un buen (y largo) respiro para acabar con ella

¿Os imagináis que ahora tuviésemos mandos a distancia como el de la imagen? Se trata de una patente de 1.976, fecha en las que los televisores empezaban a llegar a los hogares. 35 años han pasado desde entonces y creo que no podemos decir que la evolución haya sido a peor.

Lógicamente son muchos años y todo ha cambiado, podríamos decir que casi por completo. En ciertas disciplinas, como la computación, se siguen utilizando los mismos fundamentos, pero el producto final es muy diferente. También disponemos de nuevas tecnologías, como los móviles o laWWW, las pantallas táctiles o la información digital.

A continuación os dejo la imagen de la patente al completo, con detalles como los extremos del “bastón”. Se antoja peculiar y muy extraño, ¿verdad? Yo no me imagino utilizando uno de estos, todo hay que decirlo

Bestial obra maestra del modding, fabricada en serie

This Luxury PC Has Post-Modern Sculptural Look

It's a work of art both visually and in performance, but carries a hefty price.

Zoom - PurePC has launched an interesting desktop PC that looks more like an expensive post-modern sculpture than anything that could crank out Crysis 2 with high-end graphics. Called the Pure Luxury, the name speaks for itself, combining "exquisite" craftsmanship with some of the best, most expensive hardware currently available on the market.

According to the company, the high-class gaming rig is based on a design by DARWINmachine and presents a heap of high-end hardware including Intel's i7 990X Extreme Edition processor (that can be overclocked to 5 GHz), two Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 graphics cards, and 12 GB or 24 GB of Kingston's HyperX T1 memory, depending on the desired configuration.

But what really stands out is the machine's overall appearance. Gone is the typical box-shaped chassis. In its place, as seen in the image shown to the right, is something innovative altogether, a work of art that is just as spellbinding as the hardware it supports. It's a design that should leave most PC modders jealous with envy.

"Our vision of a luxury, high-performance system involved shattering this mold," the company said."We set out to create a system that would turn heads, raise a few eyebrows and excite the user or anyone who saw it. A system with a body as remarkable as the brains and brawn inside, at a level of quality and ingenuity not yet seen in the PC arena."

The "chassis" was designed to pipe all external cables downward, allowing them to exit the computer "discretely" rather than dangling out the rear in a big tangled mess. It also features a translucent cowling to subtly reveal the aluminum structure beneath. But most importantly, it allows for easy modification, as all components are openly accessible and adjustable.

"The central aluminum backbone acts as large heatsink," the company said. "Combined with the exposed design, the Luxury runs very cool and silent, without the need for additional case fans."

As for the actual specs, the rig features the Intel Core i7 990X Extreme Edition processor with a default clock speed of 3.46 GHz mounted on the ASUS Rampage III Gene (or Formula) motherboard. The rig can come packed with two or three Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 (1536 MB of GDDR5) cards in SLI, or two AMD Radeon HD 6970 (2 GB of GDDR5) cards in CrossFire. There are also various HDD and SSD storage options, a 24-in-1 memory card reader, a fully modular Kingston 1200W PSU and even a Blu-ray disc burner.

Unsurprisingly, pricing isn't available online-- interested buyers must call or email the company. However, the artsy rig starts at a meager $9500 USD-- that's nearly the price of a compact car. Nevertheless, potential customers can learn more about this gaming beast by heading here.
