Motorola presenta 7 nuevos Androids!

Motorola Reveals 7 New Android Phones

4:10 PM - October 6, 2010 - By Kevin Parrish - Source : Tom's Guide US
Seven new Android phones range from business use to water repellent.
ZoomAn Android army is fast approaching thanks to Motorola. During a press event Tuesday evening in San Francisco, Motorola co-Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Jha said that the company plans to focus its energy on producing Android-based smartphones. To prove that point, the company has officially revealed seven new Android phones included three dedicated for AT&T's network and two for Verizon.
Still, what about Windows Phone 7? Microsoft's new mobile OS will be officially revealed next week. However given Motorola's previous support for the Windows Mobile platform, the Android focus seems like the company has abandoned Microsoft. "We’re going to be watching Windows Phone 7 very carefully," Jha said. "But I’m going to say that it may be too late for us to engage in Windows Mobile 7."
As for the new Android additions, Motorola revealed the DROID PRO and CITRUS for Verizon Wireless, and the FLIPOUT ($80), FLIPSIDE ($100) and BRAVO ($130) for AT&T. The Motorola SPICE will be launched in Brazil for the Latin market, and the tough, rugged Motorola DEFY will be available on T-Mobile USA later this year. According to Motorola, the latter DEFY model (seen above) will be able to sustain drops, rough handling, and even endure water.
On the AT&T front, the FLIPOUT was revealed last summer and will hit the network on October 17. The phone features a 2.8-inch QVGA pivot touchscreen, a five-row QWERTY keyboard and 512 MB internal memory. It also has a 3MP camera, a microSD card slot supporting up to 32 GB, an FM Radio and more.
The BRAVO will also arrive on October 17 and sport a 800 MHz processor, a 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen, FM Radio, 512 MB of internal memory, an added 2 GB microSD card and more. The Motorola BRAVO is also a Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) enabled device, so customers can stream, store and share entertainment with multiple devices around the home
Finally the FLIPSIDE will be an HSDPA device offering a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 3.1-inch HVGA screen, a 3MP camera, 256 MB internal memory and 512 MB of internal storage, an additional 2 GB microSD card and more. Users can stay connected to work with full push corporate e-mail, support for Microsoft Exchange, unified inbox and enhanced features for IT compliance like remote wipe and password enforcement.
While the Motorola DROID PRO looks to tackle RIM's BlackBerry line, the Motorola CITRUS on Verizon--slated to hit the network by the end of the year--is an entry-level phone with a 3-inch touchscreen and a 528 GHz Qualcomm processor. The phone's overall theme is "green," housed in a chassis made from 25-percent post-consumer recycled plastic and certified Carbon Free.
The Motorola SPICE--seemingly influenced by the Palm Pre-- will feature a vertical sliding QWERTY keyboard and a 3-inch touchcreen. It will also come packed with a 3MP camera, 256 MB of memory and 512 MB of internal storage, support for up to 32 GB via a microSD slot, and more. The phone will be available later this year.

FinalWire Ltd. today announced the immediate availability of AIDA64 Extreme Edition 1.00 software, a streamlined diagnostic and benchmarking tool for home users; and the immediate availability of AIDA64 Business Edition 1.00 software, an essential network management solution for small and medium scale enterprises.

As a descendant of the award-winning AIDA16 and AIDA32 software, and the successor to the widely popular diagnostic utility Lavalys EVEREST, the brand new AIDA64 version leaps forward into the next decade by introducing a collection of 64-bit processor and memory benchmarks, an enhanced 64-bit system stress test module, and a further expanded hardware database.

"After the splitting up of Lavalys, we at FinalWire are happy to continue our efforts of delivering a dependable monitoring software to our faithful users" said Tamas Miklos, managing director of FinalWire. "Since the introduction of our first diagnostic utility ASMDEMO in 1995, we have built a passionate community of hobby users, hardware enthusiasts, and professional overclockers. Using the valuable feedback we have collected from them in the past few years, we have created a software for the new decade of 64-bit multi-core systems."

New and Enhanced Benchmarks
Besides introducing 64-bit variants of its proven memory and processor benchmark methods, AIDA64 implements an optimized ZLib data compression benchmark and an enhanced set of fractal computational floating-point benchmarks. It also adds a new CPU benchmark method to determine cryptographic hash value calculation performance. All AIDA64 processor benchmarks are now fully ported to 64-bit, scale up to 32 processor cores, and utilize MMX, 3DNow! and SSE instructions to unlock the full potential of modern multi-core Intel and AMD processors.

Solid-state drive support
AIDA64 further extends its exhaustive hardware database by adding 300 solid-state drives (SSD), making the database count over 115,000 entries total. On top of the usual ATA auto-detect information the new SSD database enables AIDA64 to display flash memory type, controller model, physical dimensions, and data transfer performance data. The new AIDA64 version also implements SSD-specific SMART disk health information for Indilinx, Intel, JMicron, Samsung, and SandForce controllers.

Improved stress testing, alerting and hardware monitoring features
The popular System Stability Test module is now ported to 64-bit to put the most demanding workload on both the system memory and all available CPU cores. Overheating, over-voltage, and cooling fan alerts are now fine-tunable with alert sound and emergency application launch. The real-time hardware monitoring module was further improved by adding Intel QST 2.0, Koolance TMS-200, and DIMM thermal sensor device support.

Easy Tiger! The moment Woods's Ryder Cup challenge was halted... by a photographer

By SPORTSMAIL REPORTER
Last updated at 8:15 AM on 3rd October 2010
This is the moment when Mail on Sunday photographer Mark Pain found himself in the line of fire at the Ryder Cup - and for a brief moment brought the mighty Tiger Woods to a juddering halt.
The American world No 1 was partnering Steve Stricker and attempting to chip his third shot on the final hole of yesterday morning's fourball against Europe's Ian Poulter and Ross Fisher on to the green.

But Woods hit the ground behind the ball and duffed the shot straight at Pain.
The man from The Mail on Sunday didn't flinch, however, and captured this extraordinary picture just before the ball hit his camera, bounced on to his chest and came to rest at his feet.
Woods was furious about his blunder, but neither he nor caddie Steve Williams objected to Pain's position.

The Americans accepted that the ball had hit the intrepid photographer only because Tiger's effort, from rain-soaked rough, had been so badly struck.
But it did enable Pain to pull off a much better shot than Woods had made - and nothing could stop Tiger and Stricker from completing a decisive victory over their European opponents.
  • For camera buffs, Pain was using a Nikon D3S camera, with a 24-70 mm lens and a shutter speed of 1/1000 of a second.
