Ahora se puede editar Google Docs en iOS y Android

El soporte nativo para Google Docs finalmente está disponible para iOS y Android (la versión móvil de Google Docs ha estado disponible por más de tres años). Ahora se puede editar en casi tiempo-real (los cambios pasan desapercibidos) y en Android incluso puedes insertar texto usando reconocimiento de voz.

La mejora más importante es su distribución, la cual permite editar documentos de una manera más fácil y permite la colaboración con otros usuarios de Docs. Actualmente, Google Docs tiene soporte para dispositivos Android 2.2 (nombre código Froyo) y versiones más recientes, como también dispositivos Apple con iOS 3.0 o más reciente. Desafortunadamente Google no especifica con que navegadores funcionarán el nuevo Google Docs o cuáles son sus planes para nuevas plataformas como Windows Phone y webOS.

La nueva funcionalidad será introducida dentro de los próximos días para los usuarios que tengan su idioma en ingles. Para usar esta nueva versión puedes dirigirte a docs.google.com para una lista de dispositivos compatibles. Desde ahí puedes crear nuevos documentos o editar existentes con solo presionar el botón de Editar.

Colin Farrell estará en el remake de “Total Recall”

Se van consolidando nuestros temores pues Sony acaba de ofrecer aColin Farrell el personaje principal de “Total Recall”, la producción de Columbia Pinctures.

El actor irlandés se pondrá en la de Douglas Quaid, un hombre torturado por unos sueños recurrentes sobre el planeta Marte, y que fuera interpretado por Arnold Schwarzenegger en la película dirigida en 1990 por Paul Verhoeven, “Total Recall”.

Tal y como ya informamos, Len Wiseman dirige a partir de un guión de Kart Wimmer que tiene como intención actualizar la fascinante historia original que escribiera Philip K. Dick en We Can remember It for You Wholesale. La imagen del actor irlandés ayudaría a ofrecer una imagen más contemporánea de la historia, así como ofrecer un contrapunto al personaje que interpretara Schwarzenegger.

En el reparto le acompañarían actores como Tom Hardy, a quien vimos recientemente en la controvertida “Inception” o en “RocknRolla”; yMichael Fassbender, cuyos últimos estrenos han sido “Jonah Rex”, “Centurion”, “Fish Tank” o “Ingourious Basterds”.

No deja de parecerme curioso que cuando el reparto de la versión del holandés Verhoeven estuviera repleta de actores estadounidenses, el californiano Wiseman parece inclinarse por un reparto completamente europeo. Por otro lado, lo que de verdad me suscita mucho más interés es saber quien va a sustituir a Rachel Ticotin y, sobre todo, a Sharon Stone, que supo rentabilizar a la perfección su breve aparición en pantalla.

Antes de ver a Colin Farrell correteando por los áridos paisajes de Marte, podremos verle en la próxima película dePeter Weir, “The Way Back”, lista para estrenar el 21 de enero de 2011, y cuyo tremendo tráiler ya tuvimos el placer de disfrutar.

Videocámara Sony que usará lentes de reflex, para el año que viene

Sony's Camcorder That Takes DSLR Lenses Will Be On Sale Next Year

Looks like Panasonic aren't the only guys with a camcorder that can supportinterchangeable lenses like a DSLR. Sony's NXCAM, first shown off in May, takes E-mount lenses (the same used on their NEX cameras) and has a super-35mm sensor.

While it's just a concept for now, they have plans to bring it out in the middle of next year, where it'll be shooting video in 1080p—most likely for a pretty, pretty penny. [Sony]

Sony to expand 35mm large format sensor camcorder lineup

Sony Corporation announced today that it is developing a new type of E-mount interchangeable lens camcorder for professional use that is equipped with a Super-35mm equivalent large format CMOS sensor. This new addition to Sony's professional "NXCAM" line will be available in the middle of 2011.

Already a key player in the 35mm digital cinematography business with the highly acclaimed "CineAlta" F35 and SRW-9000PL for high-end digital cinema production, Sony has just strengthened its lineup in this category with the recent PMW-F3 announcement. In addition to this, with this new "NXCAM" HD camcorder now (still under development), Sony looks to further strengthen its position in the entry-level segment by providing an affordable yet highly capable professional solution for many applications including independent film, music video and corporate communications all looking for the cinematic look.

This "NXCAM" HD camcorder under development will be equipped with a Super-35mm equivalent sensor, a widely used film stock size in the film industry that is perfectly designed for capturing motion picture. This new sensor will have extraordinary performance in terms of picture quality and sensitivity, and is able to create rich "Bokeh" effect (beautifully defocused image) that is perfect for artistic story-telling in motion picture.

Thanks to the adoption of the E-mount interchangeable lens system that is identical to the "α" series NEX-5, 3 and "Handycam" NEX-VG10, the E-mount lenses will be compatible with this new professional camcorder. In addition, a very short flange back distance (the distance between lens mount surface and sensor surface) let various "α" A-mount lenses be mounted via a mount adaptor (LA-EA1). Furthermore, it is also possible to attach many other lenses using third-party mount adaptors*1. With such flexibility, users will be able to experiment with various creative expressions by exploiting the characteristics of different optics.
* 1: Not all types of adaptors and lenses are guaranteed.

The recording format for this new HD camcorder will be AVCHD, a widely supported format by many non liner editing software vendors and the same format as HXR-NX5 "NXCAM" camcorder.
There is also a plan to implement 1080p (60p / 30p / 24p*2 or 50p / 25p) recording modes.
(MPEG4-AVC/H.264 compression will be used for these modes.)
*2: 59.94p / 29.97p / 23.98p respectively.
